The Devil Lettuce...

Hello again!

This week on Jasmine's Journey we're going to talk about all the ways you shouldn't partake in the Devil lettuce.

HAHAHA...!

I couldn't keep that laughter in! Honestly though. Cannabis. It's natural with more benefits than we could ever hope for!

This past week I have delved hard into the networking scene of the Cannabis industry. Let me tell ya it's a big one!

There are a ton of patients out there that are coming together and having the conversations and trying to lift the stigma surrounding Cannabis.

Let me start with my story.

I have Photosensitive Epilepsy, PTSD, Anxiety, Insomnia, and Depression.

I've had epilepsy since I was 16. Anxiety and Depression since my father passed when I was 7. PTSD from this past year from losing my husband. I am now 28. All of these things are hard to live with. Let alone trying to find some sort of relief without being heavy on benzodiazepines "benzos". I have been prescribed numerous of medications for my conditions. I am extremely sensitive to things I consume/ take in or put on my body. I try to take the natural route with everything that I introduce into my life from consumption to skin.

Cannabis is no exception. It has been the best alternative for me in treating my conditions. Not to say its for everyone but with all the forms Cannabis takes on I guarantee there can be a use found in everyones lives.

This week has been eyeopening. I have met so many people who are patients and who support the community/industry. It is an ever growing industry with a lot to offer. Especially for the ladies who partake in the Devil Lettuce! They are women who are mothers, caregivers, business leaders, and influential.

I was able to converse with many of these different women and learn and connect.

One of the events I got to attend was Women+Weed a monthly networking event for women in the industry and patients alike. I also got to attend an event brought by the ladies of High Maintenance Productions. At this I got to sit and speak to some ladies who also medicate and be surrounded by more support and knowledge.

I also got to attend the 1st ever Oklahoma Cannabis Cup brought by High Times. 1st off to see that many people come together was absolutely amazing! There were so many wonderful people and everyone was welcoming. Now those who brought the event to Oklahoma and the location were less to be desired to say the least. It was hot. People were not able to get water or bathrooms. Patients were falling out and ADA was not implemented effectively. This was extremely hard on patients. Nonetheless a lot took it with stride. It was almost like Woodstock. But a shit show.

My main goal is to educate and medicate. Get rid of the stigma it holds and grow. I will be highlighting the women in the Cannabis industry. This will be from portraits to stories to businesses. I will also have more blog posts highlighting the different benefits of Cannabis and uses. If you know of some ladies that would like to tell their stories please do not hesitate to send them my way!

More to come!
